Music Monday!

This song from NeedToBreathe talks about how we can go to God (the fountain) and be satisfied. This is my understanding of the song, but let me know what y’all think in the comments. 🙂 Here is the song! Enjoy! (I own nothing! All rights go to NeedToBreathe and their producers.)

Recognition Blogger Award #2

Thank you, Etain from A Homeschooling Life blog, for nominating me for this award! To check out my last recognition blogger award post click here. Here are the rules for this award:

Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

Write a post to show your award.

Give a brief story of how your blog started.

Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.

Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.

Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them & provide the link to the post you created.

How my blog got started: I have never had any social media accounts before I started my blog. One of my close friends started a blog, and invited my sister and I to join her. My sister got her blog because she loves writing (go check out her blog!) And then a week later I joined the both of them not expecting that much to come out of it. But here I am, loving it!

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers: My number one piece of advice for new bloggers is to be yourself. It is so easy to just do what everyone else does, but that won’t make your blog special or stand out. I love music so I post about music. I love to encourage people, so I post encouraging post on my blog. I am not going to post a story, or certain other posts because that is not what I love. Do what you Love and Love what you Do.

My second piece of advice is pre-post, pre-post, pre-post! This has really been a lifesaver to me these past few months. When you have a lot time you can post something. But don’t stop there go ahead and write more posts (if you have ideas for the posts). I write posts ahead of time a lot, especially for smaller holidays like Valentine’s Day, Easter, and the 4th of July. Even right now I am typing this on January 14th! Another things to go with this one is to brainstorm ideas for posts. Whenever you have an idea write it down! You may never use it, but who knows maybe you will.

Bonus question from Etain: If you could blog about something completely different than what you blog about, what would it be? I would make it a writing blog, because I am not a good writer. And if I had a writing blog I would be good at writing, right?…

Thanks for nominating me for this award Etain! 🙂 And whoever wants to do this award can feel free to tackle this award. Love y’all!

Liebster Award!

s

I have another Liebster Award for y’all! I cannot remember if I ever did these questions, so I’m just going to do it. I was nominated by Sarah from Forever Aspiring Writer blog. Thanks Sarah! Go check out her amazing blog! 🙂

Here are the Rules:

  • Post the award to your blog
  • Answer the nominating blogger’s ten question interview
  • Nominate 3-10 other bloggers with fewer than 3,000 followers whom you want to encourage
  • Create 10 questions for the new nominees
  1. If you had to change your name, what would you rename yourself? I love my name, so this is a hard question. I might just change my middle name to my first name. Faith. For some weird reason I have always liked the name Brittany, I don’t know why. 😀
  2. If you cook, what’s your favourite dish to make? I love to cook, and bake! My favorite thing to cook is anything with lots of vegetables, because I like to chop vegetables…this makes me sound really weird.
  3. If you could own any animal as a pet, what would you choose? A mini horse, or a horse! Only because a sea turtle probably doesn’t count…or does it?
  4. Would you rather an ice cream on a hot day, or a hot chocolate on a cold day? ICE CREAM all the way! plus I don’t eat chocolate. (Just for health reasons)
  5. What’s your favourite colour to wear? Blue, because it brings out my eyes.
  6. Do you prefer feeling bored with nothing to do, or feeling busy with so much to do? Busy with too much to do! Except I did get overwhelmed when I had too much to do last semester…
  7. Has a book ever made you cry? Yes, definitely. I can’t think of a specific book off the top of my head, but I know there have been some of those books.
  8. How many years do you imagine your blog will be running from now? I would absolutely love to make it to 10 years, but time will tell. In August my blog will be 4 years old!!! That is crazy!
  9. Chess or checkers? Checkers, I still don’t know the rules for chess.
  10. If you were granted a pair of wings, what would you want them to look like? Wow, this is a great question. I would like very beautiful wings, but who wouldn’t? I would like some jewels of blue, or turquoise. Very elegant patterns. But who actually knows what angel wings look like in heaven. I will be happy with whatever kind of wings I would get.

Here are the questions for my nominees:

  1. Why did you start your blog?
  2. Who is someone you admire or look up to?
  3. If you could be any animal in the world what animal would it be and why?
  4. What is your favorite song at the moment?
  5. What is your favorite fast food and sit down restaurants?
  6. Cards or a board game?
  7. What is your dream job?
  8. What was your best moment of 2016?
  9. If you  were forced to open a bakery or restaurant, which would it be and what would you name it?
  10. What is your favorite Bible verse?

Here are my nominees!

  1. Etain
  2. Courtney
  3. A+B
  4. C. B. Cook
  5. Katie

Do not feel obligated to do this award. I would love to hear how y’all answer these questions though! And anyone else who wants to do these questions feel free too. Just make sure y’all let me know so I can stop by y’all blogs and check it out!

A Walk With God

This year one of my goals is to grow closer to God in reading the Bible and in prayer. My devotional a few days ago talked about walking with God. And it reminded me about summer camp. While we would walk to the next game or event we would make up a walk-and-talk question. So while we walked we would pick a person we didn’t know well and discuss the question with them. In my devotional it talked about communication, and how we can basically walk-and-talk with God.

I am challenging myself this year to talk more with God. Communication is key! There will be many changes for me this year, some fun, others maybe not so fun. But whatever happens I want to be able to celebrate through it all. The only way I will be able to accomplish this is to stay in constant communication with God. He will always be there for me I just need to remember to do my part.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. -Ephesians 6:18
