Music has impacted my life in many ways. In this post I will be sharing some songs that have gotten me to where I am today, or just songs I remember from childhood. They are in no particular order. Feel free to try this for yourselves with songs, books, movies, anything really! Hope y’all enjoy!
Come to Jesus– This was my song when I was younger. I remember every time it came on the radio I would always sing it. It was the only song I new the words to.
You Raise Me Up– I remember this song from kindergarten. We did a play with the Pilgrims and Native Americans, and we sang that song.
My Number One– Growing up a big part of the children’s ministry was a group called the praise team. Now we weren’t your normal praise and worship band. We were a group of kids, teens and adults who would lead the children in dancing to songs. My Number One was the fist song that I ever learned when I joined, and it is still one of my favorites!
Lean on Me– This is another song from the praise. We always had a partner for this one and I found it so fun.
Born Again– This song was the song that really hit home, and I scored BIG! I heard this song on the radio and I actually listened to the words. This was the first song I looked up the words to, and the song that started my walk with God.
Let Them See You– This song encouraged me to live for God and live so that people will see Him in me.
Beautiful Day– This song taught me that it doesn’t matter what it feels like outside physically, it just matters that it is a day that the Lord has given us and we should rejoice in everyday. Everyday is a beautiful day!
Maker– This has been one of my favorite songs since the first time I heard it. I have always been able to get closer to God and find God through His marvelous creation. And this song is such a great reminder of God as the Maker.
Into the Light– This was the first song I ever sang with our youth band, plus I love D.C. Talk songs! I will always remember that night singing this song…
Holy Spirit– Holy Spirit is my favorite worship song to sing for a while now.
Adore Him– This song is a Christmas song which I performed for my first solo performance at a Christmas recital last year. I will always remember it.
Bring Him Home and Favorite Things– These two songs were the songs I sang for my college auditions. They were so out of my comfort zone, but I succeeded in getting accepted.
